Hey Friends Sorry it’s been awhile since we’ve corresponded. There was some seriously important mental downtime to be had as the summer season came to an end. The “bummer summer” as I liked to call it, has passed, and was replaced by perhaps the most glorious autumn I’ve ever experienced in the 28 years I’ve lived in Calgary. It really was a nice autumn, hey? And when I say nice, I mean it in the sense that my thumbs are not destroyed from having to install dozens of studded tires in one week. It was “nice” to have all those studded tire swaps happen over the course of many weeks. Sweet relief, for my thumbs. That autumn came to a screeching halt in the last few days when winter arrived with the thud and crunch of 500 cars colliding in one day. I will never not be amazed at the carnage the first big snowfall causes here. The first big winter snowfall event also means our pathway system is going to be treacherous for a time until clearing crews remember where the edges of the pathways are. Specifically, I’m looking at you, City of Calgary bobcat operator how drove straight off the pathway near Crowchild yesterday, almost ending up in the river. I really do hope you’re ok. For those of you who are not riding all winter, now is a really great time to bring your bike in for an end-of-your-season spa day. You can beat the springtime rush and show your bike how much you really do love it. And for those of you that do ride in the winter, I am guessing you’re ready for what winter may bring, bsed on who many tires and pogies we’re installing. Stay safe out there.
