Way, way back in 2010 when we popped the doors on “Calgary’s Citizen Cyclery”, Yuba’s longtail cargo bike - the Mundo - was one of the first cargo models to grace our sales floor. That bike, and a couple years later, the BodaBoda midtail, were hugely popular. We quite literally sold as many of them as we could get for many years in a row - and all of them are still out there, in some cases, onto their 3rd and 4th families! . All of that ended a few years later because ‘dumb-stuff-the-bike-industry-does’ - no need to go down that hole here and now… :)

For today we REJOICE! Yuba Bikes are back at BikeBike and in the interregnum lots has changed both at Yuba and BikeBike - all of it for the better. We’re better at what we do. So is Yuba. Their range of available models has exploded and they have gone deep into creating excellently appointed electric cargo models too.

Since the beginning, Yuba’s cargo bike accessory game has been very strong. Creating useful #familycycling accessories for their bikes has always helped set them apart from most of their competitors too. I mean, what’s the point in creating a family hauling bicycle if you can’t also offer great accessories to move said family members??? We won’t name names, let’s just say those cargo bike brands are conspicuous by their absence from our cargo portfolio.

Of particular note is the addition of some very well spec’d electric cargo models - particularly the new SuperCargo CL. For almost $1500 less than a certain hairy brand you can get a bike that has equal cargo capacity, a 20% longer range (think, size of gas tank), the strongest electric motor available on the market today tp help you and your load up the steepest of hills (Bosch Cargo Motor), Bosch’s full colour Kiox display, Magura’s amazing brakes, super wide range and serviceable Deore 10-speed drivetrain, an innovative (and highly serviceable) cable-actuated steering system, and - oh right - a collection of kid hauling accessories only matched by the folks at Urban Arrow (who we also love).

Yuba’s entire range is now available for order at BikeBike. Our first order of their electric midtail, Kombi E5 are in stock now. As many of you will already know, covid-related supply chain disruptions are rocking our industry pretty hard so bikes and accessories will be slow arriving for awhile yet. But have no fear - and better yet - plan ahead. If you are keen on securing one of their bikes get in touch and we’ll get it ordered up. We even offer financing.
